WHERE AM I WHEN I FEEL?
WHEN FEELINGS BECOMES TOO MUCH.....
WHEN EMOTIONS BOSS ME AROUND.......
We all know nobody experiences the holiday season the way it's depicted on t.v. or in the movies. For many, the holidays often bring overwhelming and confusing feelings. These feelings often take people hostage in their bodies. They boss people around and make people do and say things they normally wouldn't do or say. Ultimately, these feelings are all that others can see - the person to whom they belong disappears....
This holiday season the Norma Kent Pastoral Counseling Center will be offering a 10-session long group therapy class to teach people new ways to manage overwhelming feeling triggered by the holidays. Dr. Marsha Linehan's Dialectical Behavior Therapy serves as a model for the group in that its emphasis will be on building mindfulness, feelings tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal skills.
10 Monday Evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM. Beginning November 28, 2011 and ending February 13, 2012.
